"It’s pronounced “Al-peen,” and named for the type of driving Alpine founder Jean Rédélé designed his cars to be adept at. It’s been 24 years since the last Alpine A610 rolled off the assembly line. The new A110 was designed from the ground up with a primary goal in mind: Lightness. Throughout the A110, from its all-aluminum body and all-aluminum chassis to the integrated components, it delivers weight savings, agility, and efficiency. Less than 2,500 pounds, with a rear/mid-engine places the Alpine squarely facing tough competitors like the Porsche Cayman or Audi TT. Hit the mountain roads and find out if Colin Chapman is still right in saying “Simplify, then add lightness.” Alpine is banking he was."
—Official description[1]

The 2017 Alpine A110 - abbreviated as "Alpine A110 '17" - is a rear-wheel drive sports car by Alpine.

It appears in Forza Horizon 4 as a seasonal reward since Update 17 and all subsequent main series titles.

Synopsis[]

The Alpine A110 is a mid-engined sports car by Renault's subsidiary Alpine. It is a retro-styled two-seater designed similarly to the 1973 Alpine 1600s that began production in late 2017, and became available as the A110S with improved performance in 2019.[2]

Engine and drivetrain[]

Unlike the boxer-powered 1600s, the A110 uses a turbocharged inline-four engine, displacing 1.8 liter that is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. It has 248 hp (185 kW) and 236 ft·lb (320 N·m) of torque.

Platform[]

As 96% of the platform including the body and chassis are made in aluminum, the A110S has a low dry weight of just 2432 lb (1103 kg). Using a rear mid-engine layout, it has a rear-heavy chassis with only 44% of its weight at the front.

The retro-styled body shell does not have any spoilers or wings, and is claimed by Renault to make the A110S "the only car in its category capable of reaching 250 km/h" without using the aforementioned.[3]
