The 2008 Aston Martin #009 Aston Martin Racing DBR9 is a GT1 race car by Aston Martin.

It appears in Forza Motorsport 3 and Forza Motorsport 4.

Synopsis

The DBR9, with a name that pays homage to the Le Mans winning DBR1, is a race car developed by Prodrive that competed in the GT1 endurance category from 2005 until its demise in 2011. Derived from the DB9, the only common elements between the two cars is the chassis, engine block and cylinder heads, with the race car now having a body constructed from carbon fiber to save weight and a completely flat bottom to help with aerodynamics.

The #007 (chassis DBR9/3) and the #009 (chassis DBR9/8) competed together in the 2006 American Le Mans Series (ALMS) season. Piloted by Darren Turner, Tomáš Enge, and Nicolas Kiesa (12 Hours of Sebring only), the #007 car won twice, while the #009, driven by Stéphane Sarrazin, Pedro Lamy, and Jason Bright (Sebring only) won 3 times, however the team would lose out on the GT1 title to Corvette Racing's C6.Rs by 3 points.

The #009 wouldn't be run for another two years until it raced at the 2008 edition of Le Mans. Driven by Turner, Antonio García, and David Brabham, the car would give Aston Martin back to back wins in the LMGT1 class, just narrowly beating a C6.R to the win.
