"It’s a tribute to the extreme road prowess of the DB9 road car that the DBR9 racer can utilize any parts at all for racing duty—the robust aluminum chassis and stout engine’s block and heads carry over with only some modification for track duty. However, beyond that, the DBR9 is all business, from the special carbon fiber bodypanels that resemble the road car but are optimized for track duty, to the race-specific transmission, suspension, and safety equipment. The engine’s power figures are not well-known outside of Aston Martin’s racing divisions, but all signs point to an output north of 600 horsepower, so performance is about how you would imagine—blisteringly quick.
