"The Pikes Peak International Hillclimb is one of the most historic and iconic American racing challenges. Since 1916 racers have been taking on the mountain road that stretches 12.42 miles and climbs in elevation nearly 5,000 feet to the peak at 14,110 feet. Robb Holland took his VLN (Veranstaltergemeinschaft Langstreckenpokal Nürburgring) spec Rotek Racing TTRS to Pikes Peak with the intention of setting a new front-wheel-drive record. This is an endurance racer with long gearing for the Green Hell’s long straights. The team did not modify it for the record attempt. With just 380-horsepower – which according to Holland, dwindled to around 250 at altitude– the team met their goal and set a new FWD record time of 10:56.878, shattering the previous record by nearly a minute."—Official description[1]
The 2016 Audi #17 Rotek Racing TT RS - abbreviated as "Audi #17 TT RS" - is a GT race car by Audi.
It appears in Forza Motorsport 7 as part of the Dell Gaming Car Pack and as standard in Forza Motorsport (2023).
Synopsis[]
Based on a 2013 second generation Audi TT RS, the #17 TT RS is built for the SP4T class of the VLN series, although it is unknown whether the car actually competed in the series or not. It is known however, that the car competed at the 2016 edition of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in the Time Attack/Time Attack 1 class.
Driven by Robb Holland, the car ran in its stock VLN spec, with the goal being to break the front-wheel-drive record of 11:37.084, which had been set two years earlier in 2014 by Jonathan Newcombe in a 2008 Hyundai Tiburon.[2] The car would end up smashing this goal, setting a new record time of 10:56.878.[3] This time would also only last two years, being broken in 2018 by Nick Robinson in a 2018 Acura TLX A-Spec with a time of 10:48.094[4], which has held up until the 2024 edition of Pikes Peak.
