The 2008 Audi A4 Touring Car is a DTM touring car by Audi.

It appears in Forza Motorsport 3.

Synopsis[]

The A4 Touring Car, or as its more commonly known, the A4 DTM, was introduced in 2004 as a replacement for the TT-R in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) championship, due to it moving away from coupe bodies and instead toward four door sedan bodies. The car uses the standard 4.0L naturally aspirated V8 found across all DTM cars of that era, which has been air restricted to about 460 hp (343 kW). Originally starting as a silhouette of the 3rd generation A4, over the course of five facelifts the car became a silhouette of the 4th generation A4. The car made its debut at the opening round of the 2004 season at the Hockenheimring, with Audi Sport also making their return as an official works team for the first time since the 1992 season.

The car would do very well in its debut season, winning 5 out of the 10 races on course to taking both the drivers' and teams' championships, with Mattias Ekström winning the former, and his team, Audi Sport Team Abt, winning the latter. The two would then do the double again a few years later in 2007, even though the car only won 3 races throughout the course of the season. This would then be followed by two back to back drivers' titles for Timo Scheider in 2008 and 2009. The car would end its time in the championship in 2011, but not before doing the double once again, with Martin Tomczyk taking the driver's title and Abt taking a third drivers' championship with the car. The car would eventually be replaced with the A5 DTM starting in the 2012 season.[1]
