"Designed to challenge the AMG- and M- offerings from those other German auto makers, the 2011 Audi RS5 is a tidy package of blistering performance and aggressive trim. Its high performance comes without reliance on tricks—just a 4.2 liter naturally aspirated V8 that manages around 450 hp. It’s relatively thin on torque—317 foot-pounds, to be exact—but makes up for it with engine revs that top out north of 8,000 RPM. Audi’s technical wizardry isn’t just found under the hood—the RS5’s wheel-selective toque-vectoring system, and crown-gear center differential mean the car can shift a tremendous amount of power to the front or rear wheels in an instant. The result is a powerful and grippy AWD; a car that’s as comfortable on the tight turns of a race track as it is speeding along back roads on a Sunday drive."—Official description[1]
The 2011 Audi RS 5 Coupé - abbreviated as "Audi RS 5" - is an all-wheel drive sports car by Audi.
It appears in Forza Motorsport 4 as part of the January Jalopnik Pack, Forza Motorsport 5 and as standard in all subsequent main series titles except Forza Motorsport (2023).
Synopsis[]
Initially intended to replace the 2006 Audi RS 4,[2] the RS 5 is a top ranging performance car priced above the Audi S5 that competes against high-performance compact executive cars such as the fourth generation BMW M3 Coupé.
The 4.2 litre V8 from the B7 RS 4 has been upgraded to 442 hp (330 kW) at 8250 rpm and produces the same amount of torque, although it is already accessible at 4000 rpm. It was only available with a seven-speed dual clutch transmission that gives the RS 5 quicker acceleration at the cost of top speed, which is 10 mph (16 km/h) less than the RS 4. The RS 5 requires 4.5 seconds from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) and at least 10 seconds for 100 mph (161 km/h).
The RS 5 Coupé has Audi's trademark quattro all-wheel drive that consists of a centerlocking differential, but switched to a crown gear differential that is lighter than the Torsen unit from previous models and offers better torque transfer. The RS 5 also has an active rear wing to produce more downforce.
It was only produced from 2010 to 2011, and was replaced by the 2012 facelift model.[3]
