The 1 Series M Coupe, in fact, borrows heavily from the M3, but only where it needs to. The rest it does all on its own."—Official description[1]
The 2011 BMW 1 Series M Coupe - abbreviated as BMW 1M - is a RWD sport compact by BMW that debuted as an Amazon pre-order bonus for Forza Motorsport 4,[2] although later made available in the Launch Bonus Car Pack.
Since then, it has appeared as standard in every subsequent Forza main title, as well as in Forza Street.
Synopsis
The M Coupe was developed by BMW's performance branch M GmbH to extend its lineup to the compact car segment. Using the chassis from the first generation BMW 1 Series and the twin-turbo inline-six from the BMW Z4 sDrive35is with 335 hp (250 kW), the M Coupe combined the agility of a compact car with the power usually reserved for larger cars.[3]
The M Coupe was produced from 2011 to 2012, and was followed up by the BMW M2 Coupé for the 2016 model year.
