The 1957 BMW Isetta 300 Export is a microcar that appears in the Turn 10 Select Car Pack for Forza Motorsport 6 and has returned for all subsequent main series titles.

The BMW Isetta 300 Export is an export version of the BMW Isetta 300, a variation of the Isetta micro-car, built under license in a number of different countries. Because of its egg shape and bubble-like windows, it became known as a bubble car, a name later given to other similar vehicles.

Description

"The Isetta is an Italian microcar that was manufactured by several companies in different countries. The BMW Isetta 300 was the most successful, possibly due to BMW almost completely re-engineering the tiny “bubble-car.” BMW used its own single-cylinder, four-stroke 298cc engine that made all of 13 horsepower. However, it was enough to propel two adults and their luggage at speeds up to 53 mph. What makes the Export model unique are the U.S.-spec nerf bumpers and headlamps. Open the single-door on the front – the steering wheel conveniently moves to the side to allow easier entrance and egress—and go for a spin in one of the most unique rides to ever appear in Forza Motorsport."

Characteristics

The BMW Isetta 300 Export features a 298 cc single-cylinder, four-stroke engine producing only 13 hp (10 kW) at 5,200 rpm and 14 ft·lb (19 N·m) of torque at 4,600 rpm. The BMW engineers enlarged the single cylinder to a 72 mm (2.8 in) bore and 73 mm (2.9 in) stroke, yielding a displacement of exactly 298 cc; at the same time, they raised the compression ratio from 6.8:1 to 7.0:1. The top speed, however, remained at 53 mph (85 km/h).

The Export model uses US-spec nerf bumpers and headlamps. With a weight of 920 lb (417 kg), it is the lightest car to appear in the Forza series.[2]

Performance

The BMW Isetta 300 Export, owing to being a small, underpowered economy car, is meant to be driven casually rather than driven like a fast car, due to having the lowest top speed in the series, at 56 mph (90 km/h), as well as sluggish acceleration. Adding to having a weight of only 920 lb (417 kg), the Isetta is nimble around corners at very low speeds. As a very small car, in Forza Horizon 3, the Isetta's small size can be an advantage when collecting Bonus Boards located in spaces that are otherwise too claustrophobic for normal cars to fit into. In addition, its small size can also come in handy in certain online events like Infected and King, allowing a BMW Isetta driver to either avoid being infected or keep the crown for the remainder of the game (unless, of course, the players successfully catch him/her).
