"What's not to like about a rear-wheel-drive roadster? Not much when you are running down the road with the wind in your hair and around 380 turbo driven horsepower from the ever-loving BMW I6 making mincemeat of everything in your wake. It's the return of the Z4 that disappeared from the BMW lineup in 2016 and Bimmer lovers must say "welcome back." When you consider the form and function of this car that aims to compete with the likes of the Porsche Boxster, it's just one more reason to appreciate German engineering. In an era dominated by the SUV, putting the top down and letting the tail get loose gives us all one more reason to love a true sports car."—Official description[1]
The 2019 BMW Z4 Roadster - abbreviated as "BMW Z4 '19" - is a rear-wheel drive convertible sports car by BMW.
It appears in Forza Horizon 4 since the Series 7 Update as a seasonal reward, in Forza Horizon 5 and in Forza Motorsport (2023).
Synopsis[]
The BMW Z4 Roadster, codenamed G29, is the first model year of the third model generation BMW Z4 that replaces the second generation BMW Z4 offered from 2009 to 2016.
The G29 Z4 was developed in a joint venture with Toyota, who uses BMW's Cluster Architecture platform and engines (the same chassis for the Z4) for the fifth generation Toyota Supra that also debuted for the 2019 model year, along with the G29 Z4. Unlike the coupé-only Supra, the Z4 is solely offered as a roadster with a fabric soft-top.
Drivetrain[]
It is featured in the Forza series as the M40i performance model with 382 hp (285 kW) and 369 ft·lb (500 N·m) of torque from a three liter twin-scroll turbocharged inline-six.[2] This engine is mated to an 8-speed transmission that drives the rear wheels
