The 1964 Brabham BT8 is a rear-wheel drive race car by Brabham.
It appears in Forza Motorsport (2023) since Update 7.0.
Synopsis[]
A development of the successful 1963 Brabham BT5 race car, the B8 was designed by Ron Tauranac for the 1964 season of sports car racing series.
Featuring a multi-tubular chassis, a fiberglass body and wishbone suspension system[1], the B8 was enlarged to accommodate bigger engines, including a BRM 1.5-liter V8 and a Coventry Climax FPF 2.75-liter inline-four engine.[2]
The Climax FPF engine, paired with a 5-speed Hewland HD5 manual transmission[3], produces over 260 hp (194 kW) and 233 ft·lb (316 N·m) of torque.
With 12 cars built, the B8 proved to be very popular and successful between 1964 and 1966, winning the 1965 RAC Tourist Trophy, as well as a class victory and third place overall at the Goodwood circuit, with the car even beating Lola T70s, Lotus 30s and McLaren M1s in some races.
