The 2023 Cadillac #2 Cadillac Racing V-Series.R - abbreviated as "Cadillac #2 LM" - is an LMDh sports prototype by Cadillac.
It appears in Forza Motorsport (2023).
Synopsis[]
The V-Series.R was Cadillac/GM's entry for the Le Mans Daytona h (LMDh) regulations in both the GTP class in the IMSA SportsCar Championship and the Hypercar class in the FIA World Endurance Championship. Built by Dallara, the car features a 5.5-liter naturally-aspirated V8 engine alongside a hybrid powertrain, with a rear-mounted 67 hp (50 kW) battery supplied by Bosch. Paired to a 7-speed sequential manual transmission by Xtrac, the V-Series.R produces 671 hp (500 kW) and 466 ft·lb (632 N·m).[1]
The #2 first competed in the 2023 WEC season. Driven by Earl Bamber, Alex Lynn, and Richard Westbrook, the car would have a strong start, finishing in the top 5 in each of its first four races, including a 3rd place at the centenary edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. However, over the final three races, it would only manage to just grace the top 10 in two out of the three races, finishing in 4th overall in the drivers' and manufacturers' championships.[2]
For the 2024 season, Lynn and Bamber would stay on, while Westbrook would be replaced by both Bourdais and Palou, with the former only driving the car in Qatar and Bahrain, while the later only drove the car at Le Mans. The season would not get off to a great start for the car as it would be disqualified in Qatar due to accidentally breaking technical regulations. Things wouldn't get much better for the car, as it would never grace the podium once over the course of the season, with its best result being a 4th place at COTA. The team would end up 7th in the manufacturers' championship, which would be second worst of the full time teams. The best driver would only be Bamber in 15th, as Lynn wouldn't receive full points from the season finale in Bahrain due to not fulfilling driver time requirements.[3] Like in IMSA, 2024 would end up being the final season for the #2, as Chip Ganassi would be replaced with Jota Sport for 2025.[4]
