Chase Far, an example of a Camera View type in Forza Motorsport 7

In each Forza game, the Camera View is the point of view from which the gameplay is seen.

Camera View Types[]

  • Chase Near/Follow Low: Third-person view of the player's car, with the camera adjusted so that the car appears larger on-screen.
  • Chase Far/Follow High: Third-person view of the player's car, with the camera adjusted so that the car appears smaller on-screen but not too small that it cannot be seen easily.
  • Cockpit: First-person view inside the player's car, directly through the eyes of the driver character. The steering wheel and dashboard can be seen. Introduced in Forza Motorsport 3.
  • Driver: Based on the Cockpit view but closer to the windshield and front of the car, with a focus on the dashboard, as the steering wheel and driver character's hands are usually not seen in this camera view type. Introduced in Forza Motorsport 7.
  • Hood: First-person view of the player's car, with the camera placed directly on the front hood of the car. If applicable, a rear view mirror is also present.
  • Bumper: First-person view of the player's car, with the camera placed directly on the front bumper of the car. If applicable, a rear view mirror is also present.

In Forza Motorsport 7, camera motion effects are added, with three options: Off, Normal, and Simulation.

Changing Camera View Type[]

In the Forza Motorsport games, the camera view can be changed by pressing the View button on the Xbox One controller. In the Forza Horizon games, the right bumper (RB) button changes camera view, as the View button instead brings up the World Map or acts as an "Action" button.

Mods[]

In Forza Motorsport 6 and Forza Motorsport 7, certain Mods force the player to use a certain Camera View type for the duration of that Mod, which can potentially make driving more challenging, but will also increase the amount of Credits earned in the race.

Notes[]

  • In certain Rivals events in the Forza Motorsport games, especially Forza Motorsport 7, the Camera View may be locked.
