The 2017 Chevrolet #4 AJ Foyt Enterprises IndyCar - abbreviated as #4 Chevy IndyCar - is an IndyCar by Chevrolet.

It appears in Forza Motorsport 7.

Synopsis[]

Succeeding the IR-05, the DW12 was built by Dallara to be used as the standard chassis in the IndyCar Series. The car's name departed from Dallara's regular naming conventions due to the death of its test driver, Dan Wheldon, just before its introduction, with the chassis named in his honor. While the original version of the chassis featured a standardized aero kit, the 2015 version of the car each featured an aero kit developed by Pratt & Miller. The other major difference between the Chevrolet version and the Honda version is the engine, with the former being powered by a 2.2L twin-turbocharged DOHC V6 that was developed for Chevrolet by Ilmor, producing between 550 hp (410 kW) and 680 hp (507 kW), depending on the circuit.[1] The cars in Motorsport 7 feature the aero kits for both road courses and ovals.

The #2 and #4 both competed in the 2017 IndyCar season, with the #2 driven by Josef Newgarden and the #4 piloted by Conor Daly. Of the two, Daly would have the less prolific season, only finishing within the top 10 four times and within the top 5 once. He would end up finishing 18th, which would be last of the drivers who took part in the full season. Newgarden would end up having the complete opposite season, only finishing outside the top 10 four times and on the podium 9 times, with 4 of these being wins and another four being second places. All these top two finishes would allow Newgarden to take his first drivers' title. Chevrolet would continue their dominance in the Manufacturers' Cup, winning their sixth straight.[2]

For the 2018 season, the DW12 would have its aerodynamics system and interior completely overhauled. Along with this overhaul, both the Chevrolets and Hondas would go back to using a standardized Dallara aero kit.[1]
