Revision as of 17:31, 20 December 2019
"While the Corvette C7 is an unbelievablecar, American muscle fans would be foolish to sleep on the brand new Camaro Z-28. Even at nearly 4,000 pounds, this Camaro delivers astonishing numbers on the strip (0-60 in 4.4 secs and less than 13 second quarter mile times) and that’s not even what it is built for. The Z/28 proudly sports its road-racing homologation history by delivering a sticky and well-balanced track experience. With suspension technology straight out of Formula One and a development program that included the Nürburgring, Road Atlanta, and Road America, this is a track-proven weapon just waiting to stomp the competition."—forzamotorsport.net[1]
The 2015 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, abbreviated as Chevy Camaro '15, is a FR sports car by Chevrolet that debuted in Forza Horizon 2 with the Duracell Car Pack
It is featured as standard in all subsequent Forza titles except for Forza Motorsport 6: Apex via the Power to Weight Car Pack and for Forza Motorsport 7.
Synopsis
Made to rival the 2013 Ford Shelby GT500, the fifth-generation Camaro Z/28, which is placed above the ZL1, is a redesigned fifth-generation Camaro SS with a full aerodynamic package designed to produce downforce at track-going speeds and a 7.0L V8 engine co-developed with Corvette Racing. It is the last high performance model of the fifth-generation Camaro before the sixth-generation Camaro's introduction in 2015.
Unveiled at the 2013 New York Auto Show, the fifth-generation Camaro Z/28 is a redesigned Camaro SS with a full aerodynamic package designed to produce downforce at track-going speeds, with a large splitter connected to an underbody panel, fender flares over the front and rear wheels, lengthened rocker panels, a redesigned rear wing, and a functional rear diffuser.
The engine is a 7.0L (7,008 cc) naturally aspirated LS7 V8 engine co-developed with Corvette Racing, with 505 hp (377 kW) and 481 ft·lb (652 N·m). Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. The Z/28 has a 0 - 60 mph (97 km/h) time of 4.4 seconds and a top speed exceeding 172 mph (277 km/h).
