There once was a time when the muscle car was considered dead. The arrival of the all-new ZL1, the most powerful Camaro ever built, is further indication that those times are well behind us. The ZL1 is power personified, with 650 hp and 650 ft-lbs of torque, but this new age muscle car does more than just beat feet. In the handling department, magnetorheological dampers and a chassis built for smoothing out the harshest of twisties will have you begging to turn. Welcome to a new era – it’s going to be a fast one. | ”

The 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, abbreviated as Chevy Camaro '17, is a track-oriented variant of the Chevrolet Camaro Super Sport featured in the Duracell Car Pack for Forza Horizon 3 and as standard in all subsequent Forza main titles.
Contents
Synopsis
Replacing the fifth-generation Camaro ZL1 from 2012, the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is the most powerful Camaro model made, with a supercharged V8 from the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C7) producing 650 hp (485 kW) and 650 ft·lb (881 N·m). It is also unique in that it has the option of a 10-speed automatic transmission.
In 2017, the Camaro ZL1 1LE, a track performance package for the ZL1, debuted for the 2018 model year.[2]
Drivetrain
Sitting underneath the front hood of the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is the Corvette Z06's 6.2L (6,162 cc) supercharged LT4 V8 engine, with identical power and torque specifications of 650 hp (485 kW) and 650 ft·lb (881 N·m), respectively.
The 2017 ZL1, rear-wheel drive, can use either a rev-matching six-speed manual transmission or a newly-designed 10-speed 10R90 automatic transmission, the latter of which was lead designed and patented by Ford. To reflect this, General Motors uses Ford's alphanumeric nomeclature of "R" (10R90) instead of "L" (8L90). The Ford transmission is adapted for use with GM engines with a different bell housing and shift logic calibration. The Forza renditions of the ZL1 use the manual.
Platform
The 2017 ZL1 features a lower grill opening for improved cooling, a new front splitter, and a carbon hood insert that ejects hot air from the engine. Also included are wider front fenders to accommodate wider tires for improved handling, unique rides, and Magnetic Ride suspension. Carried over from the Chevrolet Camaro Super Sport is the rear wing.
Performance
The ZL1 is capable of 0-60 mph (97 km/h) within 3.7 seconds while still remaining in first gear and a top speed of 198 mph (319 km/h).
