Synopsis[]
The Pro Stock Camaro is a drag race car designed to compete in Pro Stock racing series, managed by the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA).
The Pro Stock class is frequently described as "all motor", due to the restriction of any form of turbocharging, supercharging and the use of nitrous oxide. Engines must also be made by the same company as the car body.
Resembling a fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro, the car body is made of carbon fiber approved by the NHRA with windows made of polycarbonate.
Performance[]
It features an 8.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8 engine, and paired to a 5-speed air-shifted transmission with multiple discs, delivers over 1400 hp (1044 kW) and 800 ft·lb (1085 N·m) of torque, boasting insane launch and acceleration.
The primary means of braking the vehicle is through the use of twin drogue parachutes, that activate around the 200 mph (322 km/h) barrier.[2]
