"Located just north of the famous city of Barcelona in Catalonia, Spain, the Circuit de Catalunya is one of the world’s most respected, not to mention busiest, race tracks. Home to a variety of motorsports events throughout the year, including open-wheel and motorcycle races, Catalunya is also a testing hotspot for motorsport teams thanks to its centralized European location and temperate climate. The 2.8-mile circuit is a heady mix of curves, elevation changes, and long straights, making it a challenge for engineers and drivers alike. The recent addition of a chicane before the final turn might slow cars down a bit, but the long straight along the main grandstands still makes for one of the most famous start/finish lines in all of racing."
—Official description[1]

Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is a racetrack north of Barcelona in Montmeló, Catalonia, Spain. It appears in Forza Motorsport 3 and all subsequent Motorsport series titles.

Overview[]

The circuit has hosted a variety of race events, the most notable being Formula 1, Moto GP and in part, the 1992 Olympic time trial cycling event. The track is renown for its resistance to allowing for a stable vehicle setup, varying atmospheric conditions mean that while one setup will work in the morning, it is not likely to be as stable in the afternoon.

Layouts[]

In Forza Motorsport 3 and Forza Motorsport 6 onwards, it features three track layouts:

  • Catalunya Grand Prix Circuit - 2.89 mi (4.65 km)
  • Catalunya National Circuit - 1.85 mi (2.98 km)
  • Catalunya School Circuit - 1.06 mi (1.71 km)
