Drifting

Drifting is a technique used while turning that causes the car to slide sideways. Drifting is commonly seen throughout the Forza community, with multiple clans and drift tunings that players create and sell on the Forza Storefront (share from Forza Motorsport 5 onwards).

Because of its popularity within the community, there is a multiplayer gametype exclusive to drifting in Forza Motorsport 4, where players drift for points and whoever gains the most points wins. In later games, there are also Rivals events that involve high scores, similar to the Gate Drift race mode of the Asphalt series.

In Forza Horizon 3, drifting is even more important thanks to the addition of Drift Zones.
