"When you get behind the driver’s seat of a 2019 Elemental RP1 you are trading a windshield for massive amounts of speed. And we believe that is a good trade. Every bit of this car, including the driving position, was thought of and designed to make the car lighter, more aerodynamic, and, of course, much faster than any other you could meet on the track. The RP1 is said to generate as much downforce as an F1 car. And all of the weight goes into the most important part: the engine. This car produces a whopping 370bhp through its 2.3L Ford Ecoboost turbocharged engine. Paired up with its 1,000 kg total weight and this car can blast from 0 – 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds. A unique ride that can finish a lap in the blink of an eye, the RP1 is a statement on racing and versatility."—Official description[1]
The 2019 Elemental RP1 is a mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive sports car by Elemental.
It appears in Forza Horizon 5 as part of the Super Speed Car Pack, which was introduced with Series 26, and Forza Motorsport (2023) since Update 8.
Synopsis[]
The RP1 is a lightweight sports car designed and produced by Elemental, having been developed by former McLaren employees. It was introduced as a prototype in 2015 and entered production in 2017.[2]
It is built on a carbon fibre and aluminium tub - that itself only weighs 143 lb (65 kg) - and is supported by double wishbone suspension across the front and rear.[3][4] It is also claimed to generate the same downforce "as an F1 car", thanks to diffusers at the front and rear, which blow air throughout the cabin.
The engine is a longitudinally mounted, two-liter Ford EcoBoost powerplant which produces 280 hp (209 kW) and 350 ft·lb (475 N·m) of torque, mated to a six-speed Hewland sequential gearbox. With the whole car weighing only 1394 lb (632 kg), it can accelerate to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 2.7 seconds.
