"The ODYSSEY 21 e-SUV is a bespoke, purpose-built vehicle for Extreme E that’s used by all the participating teams. Each vehicle, which weights 1,780 kilograms, contains a common package of standardized parts manufactured by Spark Racing Technology, a battery produced by Williams Advanced Engineering, a set of ultra-high-performance Continental CrossContact tires, and a niobium chassis by CBMM. The powertrain of this 2.3-metre-wide e-SUV is designed for sprint races and the 470kW maximum power output of the battery – which equates to around 550bhp – is built to withstand the extreme temperatures, conditions and terrains of Extreme E. For each X Prix race on the calendar, the cars are transported across the world on the St. Helena vessel, which is Extreme E’s floating base of operations that reduces the environmental impact of this global race series."

The 2022 Extreme E Odyssey 21 e-SUV - referred to as the "Extreme E No. and Team" in-game, or abbreviated as "Extreme E #" - is a mid-engine, all-wheel drive off-road electric race car developed by Spark Racing Technology for the Extreme E racing series.

It appears in Forza Horizon 5 as part of Series 10.

Synopsis[]

Built specifically for the Extreme E off-road racing series, the Odyssey 21 was developed by Spark Racing Technology in Tigery, France, after developing the SRT01-e and SRT05e chassis for the Formula E racing series.

Although first not utilised in the racing series until the 2021 Extreme E Championship, a spec-series chassis was formally announced in August 2018 as part of an offshoot series from Formula E, but Spark Racing Technology's involvement and the use of Formula E technology wasn't clarified until early 2019.

Through the remaining of 2019, specifications as to the components Spark Racing Technology would be providing were established alongside McLaren providing the drivetrain and Williams providing the electric battery. It wasn't first shown to the public until its showcase at the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed, where it was demonstrated along the Goodwood Hillclimb circuit and it was announced that tires would be provided by Continental.

In November 2020, each car was delivered to the teams participating in the 2021 championship, allowing them to tune provided equipment for the various stages of the series. As part of the Extreme E environmental mission to create a sustainable racing the series, the participating teams boarded the St Helena in Liverpool, England on February 20, 2021 and departed for Jeddah, having arrived just over three weeks later in March for the first event of the championship in April.
