The 1999 Ford Racing Puma is a front-wheel drive retro rally car by Ford.
It is featured in Forza Horizon 4 as part of Series 22 and in all subsequent main series titles.
Synopsis[]
The Ford Racing Puma is the performance model of the Ford Puma, a 2+2 coupé with "New Edge" styling based on the Ford Fiesta Mk4. It was manufactured by Ford of Europe in Germany from 1999 to 2001.
Drivetrain[]
Due to high production costs, the originally-planned turbocharged engine[2] was dropped in favor of a Yamaha co-developed inline-four engine with 1,679 cc (1.7 liter) displacement. The "Zetec-S" engine has an aluminum block, a DOHC valvetrain and variable timing on the inlet camshaft. It outputs 153 hp (114 kW) and 119 ft·lb (161 N·m) of torque.
Platform[]
Painted in Imperial Blue and featuring a low-slung widebody, the Racing Puma was inspired by Ford's high-performance RS cars such as the Ford Escort RS Cosworth. The body was modified with aluminium front fenders, as well as steel rear fenders and rear quarter panels that were bonded and welded on top of the original body.[3]
Handling was improved with a stiffened suspension with a revised geometry. The four-piston braking system by Alcon is derived from racing technology, and signficantly improves braking performance.[4]
