"The future of drifting is here. Packing 1400hp under the hood with seven electric motors and incredible downforce – more than 2,300 lb. at 160mph! – the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E 1400 unlocks the true potential of electric vehicles. Created in collaboration between Ford Performance and RTR Vehicles, this car is built for everything RTR founder Vaughn Gittin Jr. loves doing most – from drifting and gymkhana to road racing and time attack. The Mustang Mach-E 1400 is fitted with a unique chassis and powertrain for different layouts, including AWD, RWD and FWD, as well as extreme steering angles for drifting, split power delivery between the front and rear of the car, Brembo brakes akin to the Mustang GT4 and a hydraulic handbrake system. Utilizing a 56.8-kilowatt-hour battery that is cooled while charging, the Mustang Mach-E 1400 reinvigorates the thrill of driving and ensures no moment is wasted on the track."—Official description[1]
The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E 1400, abbreviated as "Ford Mach-E 1400", is a mid-engine, all-wheel drive electric prototype developed by Ford Performance and Vaughn Gittin Jr's RTR Vehicles.
It was introduced into Forza Horizon 5 as part of Series 6.
Synopsis[]
Between the reveal of the Mach-E in late 2019 but prior to it going on sale in December 2020, the 1400 prototype was developed in collaboration between Ford Performance and Vaugh Gitten Jr's RTR (Ready to Rock) Vehicles.
Following on from Ford Performance's Mustang Cobra Jet 1400, an all-electric drag car, the 1400 produces 1400 hp (1044 kW) and 1832 ft·lb (2484 N·m) of torque with its seven motors and a lithium nickel manganese cobalt battery. It can also switch between drivetrains; all-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, or front-wheel drive, allowing for multiple setups for multiple different racing disciplines.
The aerodynamic elements attached to the bodywork help generate up to 2204 lb (1000 kg) of downforce at 160 mph (257 km/h), helping keep it planted at high-speed. Although fitted with four seats, the bodywork includes composite elements to reduce the overall weight.
In April 2021, Ford Performance pitted the Cobra Jet 1400 against the Mach-E 1400 in a quarter-mile drag race. The Cobra Jet 1400 covered the quarter mile in 8.47 seconds at 168 mph (270 km/h) fitted with drag radials and had a rear-wheel drive setup, whilst the Mach-E 1400 covered the quarter mile in 10.78 seconds at 135 mph (216 km/h) fitted with racing slicks and had an all-wheel drive setup.
