"First built in the 1970’s as promotional vehicles, the Supervan combined Ford Transit vans with sports car underpinnings, for some reason. It made its first appearance at Brands Hatch, before experiencing two more iterations between 1971 and 1994. That was the year that the Supervan 3 made its debut, sporting the V8 that would eventually be used in the Benetton F1 car. In a Transit van. "—Official description[1]
The 1994 Ford Supervan 3 is a rear-wheel drive race van by Ford.
It appears in in Forza Horizon 4 since the Series 19 update and in Forza Horizon 5.
Synopsis[]
The Supervan 3 is a show vehicle by Ford UK that was introduced in 1994 to promote the facelift of the Mk3 Ford Transit. It is the third iteration of the Ford Supervan, a series of race car chassis fitted with Ford Transit van body shells.
Platform[]
A rebuilt variant of Supervan 2, the Supervan 3 uses the mid-engine chassis of the Ford C100 Group C race car that switched to a seven-eighths scale fiberglass body of the Mk3 Ford Transit. Downforce at high speeds is provided by a large front splitter and rear wing.
Drivetrain[]
Although originally fitted with a 650 hp (485 kW) V6 engine, the Supervan 3 was fitted with less powerful engines over the years to make it more accessible for more drivers. The Forza variant is powered by a three liter Cosworth V6 with 295 hp (220 kW) and 283 ft·lb (384 N·m) of torque.[2]
