This month’s update includes work on Forza Race Regulations features and ruleset changes, as well as some quality of life improvements.

  • Forza Race Regulations
    • Fixed an issue where a player would receive a Track Cut penalty on a turn extension where they lost time on a lap.
    • Fixed an issue where, if a player joined an FRR-enabled lobby and then spectates the race, the Penalty Time would not update for the spectator unless that race earns another penalty.
  • Multiplayer
    • Fixed an issue where, in a cycled car hopper, players who were in Spectate when switching to the next race would appear in the lobby and not be forced into a valid car, thus delaying the loading of the lobby into the race.
    • Fixed an issue where players could edit a locked tune by setting a race’s minimum PI restriction higher than the stock PI.
    • Players can no longer set FRR ruleset in a private MP lobby when game type is set to Drift.
    • Fixed an exploit where players could download a tune, then enter the Body Kit menu, remove the tune, select the “revert to last used tune tile” and reset the PI without removing the tune.
    • Fixed an exploit where, in a public MP hopper, players could highlight the body kit from the Body Kit menu, allow the lobby countdown timer to start the race, in order to have the body kit installed but PI to remain stock.
    • Fixed an issue where, in a private MP lobby with multiple driver groups, the host received the incorrect braking line if another player joined and changed driver groups and cars/class.

    • Fixed an issue where a player car’s headlights would not function after entering Test Drive then changing to a car with similar headlights.

    • Updated the #Forzathon tab on the main menu.

  • General
    • Fixed an issue where the Logitech G920 wheel would pull left when the center spring and damper settings were set to 0.
    • Fixed an issue with the Logitech G920 wheel where the wheel would rotate and lock to full left during the “3-2-1” race countdown sequence.
    • Fixed an issue where players would encounter “soft lock” after completing an Autocross Rivals event and then attempt to continue past the event result screen.
    • Fixed an issue where leaderboard times from Class-based Rivals events were pulling data from non-Rivals event leaderboards, thus projecting inaccurate ghost car laps for players.
    • Added a “Don’t Show Message Again” option for the car-specific wheel tuning tutorial flyout.
    • Removed duplicate cars from appearing in Replays when racing against no Drivatars in Free Play.
  • Tracks

    • Fixed an issue on Daytona where part of the track environment is missing when in tuning and upgrade menus.
    • Fixed an issue where dirty lap indicator would not show on the mini scoreboard in the Public Multiplayer Open Track Day Meetup hopper.

  • Forza Race Regulations
    • With the Public Beta hopper (coming soon in Forza Motorsport 7) players’ accrued FRR penalties will now affect their final race placement in a race. (Note that these FRR penalties will not affect a player’s starting grid position in the subsequent race. This functionality will appear in a future FRR update).

March 2019

See also: March Update (2019)

An update was applied on March 12, 2019.

  • General
    • Fixed labeling of gearing graph in tuning menu for new top speed. Additionally, accepting changes now causes the graph to refresh.
    • Removed opponent/Drivatar labels from appearing in photomode and replays.
    • Fixed an issue where Race Ticker and Race Info panels were missing when spectating a timed endurance race. (NOTE: This fix did not make it into the March update; our apologies for the mistake. We expect this issue to be addressed with the May update for Forza Motorsport 7)
    • Adjusted Collision Assist and side-by-side collision friction and bounce off physics effect settings in multiplayer to improve general collision performance between cars. These adjustments include:
      • Collision Assist effect now bleeds off over time, so players can’t sustain use of it over time to push other players around.
      • Lowered peak friction and added a scale to the friction coefficient based on the interpenetration of the soft collisions between cars. As a result, light bumps have less friction and large magnitude collisions, where the cars “squish” into one another, have higher friction.
      • Adjusted the amount of time cars can be “squished” together.
    • Added a new car-specific wheel tuning menu that allows players to configure force feedback (FFB) scale and steering lock on a per-car basis.
    • Added a new "Car-Specific Steering Wheel Tuning" menu that allows players to configure the force feedback scale and steering lock on a per-car basis. These settings get saved to the player's garage car. If the player turns the wheel past the desired steering lock range, we "soft lock" the wheel by ramping up a large FFB torque to push the wheel back into the valid range.
    • Fixed an issue where a steering wheel paired with an Xbox Controller could cause device recognition swap when pressing the Xbox “nexus” button.
    • Fixed an issue where switching from steering wheel to controller maintains wheel button mapping and limits controller functionality.
    • Fixed an issue where post-race events results would stop updating if another player was in the lobby.
    • Fixed an issue where, if a race host launches a race before all cars have loaded into the pre-race, the loading process ends and caused unfinished loaded cars to spawn in the pre-race pit scene when the race starts.
  • Cars
    • Adjusted cockpit camera and wheel-less cockpit camera for the 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Barrett-Jackson Edition.
    • Fixed an issue where car geometry disappeared when viewing the car from certain angles when Camera View was set to Hood, Driver, or Cockpit.
  • Tracks
    • Fixed an issue where car collisions were still active in the pit lane area.
    • Fixed an issue where, when the player was using certain long cars (such as the Cadillac XTS Limo or the Tankpool Race Truck). The first AI car exiting the pit lane always hit the player’s car. This issue happened on multiple ribbons but was more likely on Monza.
    • Changing the Track Limits option in the Assists menu during a race will now be reflected once a player has resumed playing.

October 2017

An update was applied during the release date of the standard version of the title, which was followed by another update in the following week that altered the bonuses of every Forza Edition car.

October 10, 2017

  • Fixed an issue where tracks would disappear after a player uses repeated rewinds in a race.
  • Fixed an issue where some players’ Forza Rewards gifts were not saving properly after they were initially revealed in game.
  • We’ve addressed a game exploit whereby players could use Forza Edition cars to gain unrealistic leveling and rewards. In the interest of maintaining game balance, we have instituted rewards changes for all Forza Edition cars, replacing flat XP secondary rewards with a percentage-based credit (CR) reward. With this update, all Forza Edition cars will offer a primary percentage CR reward and a secondary conditional percentage CR reward. All VIP Forza Edition cars will now offer a primary +50% CR reward and a secondary conditional +50% CR reward. For example, the 2000 Nissan Silvia Spec-R Forza Edition previously offered a primary CR reward of +25% and a secondary flat +5,000 XP award after 3 good drifts in a race. With this update, the Silvia now offers a primary reward of +25% CR and a secondary reward of +25% CR after 3 good drifts in a race. As a further example, the 2014 BMW M4 Coupe Forza Edition (a VIP FE car) previously offered a primary +40% CR reward and a secondary flat +10,000 XP reward at the Nürburgring. With the update, the BMW now offers a primary +50% CR reward and a secondary +50% CR reward at the Nürburgring.
