Homologation is a series of performance restrictions in Forza Motorsport 7 that each car must meet in order to compete in a division-restricted race. Every division has their own set of restrictions regarding tire compound, tire width, power and performance class that aim to put every car of a division on an equal field in terms of performance.
Players can perform "Quick Homologate" to their car which will immediately upgrade their car to the highest possible class within its division, but can also manually install upgrades by themselves. Cars with specifications above homologation rules or signficantly below them cannot be entered in races with division restrictions, but are usable in division-free races in Free Play mode and various Multiplayer Hoppers.
Restrictions[]
All car divisions with the exception of Fast & Furious, Forza Specials and Hoonigan Racing Division have restrictions regarding tire compound, tire width, power and Performance Index. Stock cars with performance specifications above their division will have their stock performance index decreased upon homologation.
