Synopsis[]
The 2017 Honda IndyCar comes with a 2.2L (134 cu in) twin-turbocharged V6 engine with a dual overhead camshaft mated to a six-speed paddle-shift transmission with a reverse gear.
The engine produces between 550 hp (410 kW) and 750 hp (559 kW) depending on the venue, with an additional 20 hp (15 kW) via the push-to-pass function. The Forza Motorsport 7 rendition of the car sets the power at 680 hp (507 kW) and the torque at 298 ft·lb (404 N·m).
In accordance with IndyCar Series rules, the IndyCar weighs 1545 lb (701 kg) on 1.5 mi (2.41 km) speedways and Indianapolis 500, and 1575 lb (714 kg) on short ovals and road and street courses. The Forza Motorsport 7 rendition of the car weighs 1570 lb (712 kg).
