"Chances are you will never have this much fun with anything else at around 70 horsepower. The Honda S800 represents the final evolution of one of the first four-wheeled Hondas to hit the road. In 1962, Soichiro Honda presented the T360 and S360 at the Tokyo Motor Show. The T360 was a pick-up truck and the S360 a two-seater spider. These vehicles were powered by 356cc Honda motorcycle engines and had chain drive. Engine displacement evolved to the 791cc motor with a standard live axle rear end. The S800’s screaming-high redline was a direct descendent of the Honda car’s motorcycle roots so, if you have ever reveled in the high-revving noise of the modern day S2000, you’ve got the S800 to thank for it."—Official description[1]
The 1970 Honda S800 is a RWD roadster by Honda featured in Forza Horizon 3 as part of the Playseat Car Pack, as standard in Forza Motorsport 7, and in Forza Horizon 4 as part of the Series 31 update.
Synopsis
The S800 is a rear-wheel drive roadster with a front-mounted engine, and comes with perfect weight distribution as well as a low weight of 1565 lb (710 kg). It is powered by a sub-1 litre four-cylinder engine packed with water cooling, double-overhead camshaft design and four carburetors. With a power output of 70 hp (52 kW), 48 ft·lb (65 N·m) of torque and a redline close to 10000 rpm, the S800 is the most powerful sub-1 litre car to appear in the Forza series.
The S800 is the final model revision of Honda's early S series sports cars from the 1960s. Designed to benefit from Japanese tax incentives for small engine capacities, the S800 offered sporting characteristics in an economically viable form.[2]
The S800 was produced from 1966 to 1970 and received a successor 29 years later with the debut of the Honda S2000.[3]
