Hudson is an North American car manufacturer featured in Forza Motorsport 4 and Forza Horizon 4.
Synopsis[]
The Hudson Motor Car Company was founded in 1909 by eight Detroit businessmen, including Roy Chapin Sr. and Howard Coffin; the name "Hudson" came from departmental store entrepreneur Joseph Hudson, who founded the departmental store Hudson's; Hudson provided the necessary capital and gave permission to said businessmen to found the company, with Chapin later becoming one of Hudson's chief "car men". The company quickly started production in an old factory originally occupied by Aerocar, with the first car rolling out in July 1909.
The company notably hired Betty Thatcher Oros in 1939, wanting a female perspective on car design. Post-war, Hudson struggled to find a market, with CEO A.E. Barit engaging Nash-Kelvinator for a potential merger; by 1 May 1954, this deal was settled, and both Nash and Hudson were merged, forming the American Motors Corporation.
