"The Genesis Coupe is Hyundai’s first real entry in the sportscar scene swaggers right into ponycar territory with rear-wheel drive and lots of power. Instead of being shown the door, the Genesis Coupe is kicking bumpers and taking names. Chalk it up to the 305 horsepower big-bore V6 under the shapely hood, which provides a similar power-to-weight ratio as the established players. And as drift legend Rhys Millen is happy to demonstrate, with the traction control off the torquey six is happy to swing its tail around like an excited puppy. Millen and Hyundai have teamed up to field a Genesis Coupe in the Formula D professional drifting series, and Coupe’s poise and power makes this a great arrangement for both of them. The Genesis Coupe isn’t just good for drifting, either, as unleashing the 3.8-liter engine’s gruff song on any road or race circuit is just as rewarding."—Official description[1]
