"Look at it. The speed hump behind the driver’s head pays tribute to the legendary D-Type. Listen to it. The crackling, burbling rasp of the exhaust is the only thing that may encourage you to lift off the throttle. Otherwise this blown V8’s induction and roar is all one really needs. Fortunately, for the already sold out 250 models produced by the Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations unit, there is much more to appreciate. Project 7 is lighter with more grip than its predecessor. The near 100 pounds of weight loss over the F-Type R come from a fixed wing and a bikini top. Suspension changes and sticky rubber make the Project 7 an improved choice for track day enjoyment. So sure, look at it, listen to it; there’s plenty to enjoy. But most importantly drive it and find out exactly what this big cat is made of."—Official description[1]
The 2016 Jaguar F-TYPE Project 7 - abbreviated as "Jaguar Project 7" - is a rear-wheel drive convertible sports car by Jaguar.
It appears in Forza Motorsport 6 as part of the Top Gear Car Pack and all subsequent main series titles except Forza Motorsport (2023).
Synopsis[]
The Jaguar F-Type Project 7, based on the F-Type Convertible, is a limited edition version of the F-Type, with a 567 hp (423 kW) supercharged V8 engine, making it Jaguar's most powerful model of the F-Type yet, alongside the SVR. The Project 7 was created to pay tribute to the Jaguar D-Type.
Drivetrain[]
The Project 7's AJ133 5.0 L (5,000 cc) supercharged V8 has been upgraded to make 567 hp (423 kW) and 516 ft·lb (700 N·m). A carryover from the F-Type R is the eight-speed ZF 8HP button-operated automatic transmission.
Platform[]
As a car meant to pay tribute to the Jaguar D-Type, the F-Type Project 7 uses an all-aluminum body and sports an "Aero Haunch" behind the driver. It is visually different from other F-Type models in that it uses a quad exhaust system and an additional fixed rear wing. Compared to the F-Type R, the Project 7 weighs 66 lb (30 kg) less.
Performance[]
The Project 7 reaches 60 mph (97 km/h) in 3.8 seconds, 100 mph (161 km/h) in 8.1 seconds, and top speeds exceeding 186 mph (300 km/h).
Variants[]
Preorder Car[]
The Pre-Order Car is a downloadable content variant exclusive to players who pre-ordered Forza Horizon 3 from Best Buy. It comes with an S1 900 upgrade preset with improvements in handling and braking.
Horizon Edition[]
The Horizon Edition - abbreviated as "F-TYPE HE" - is an upgraded variant in Forza Horizon 3 featuring a 100% XP Boost, an S1 900 upgrade preset with aftermarket rims and the 6.5L V12 engine swap, as well as a blue design.
Its unlock was exclusive to Forzathon events.
Forza Edition[]
The Forza Edition - also known as Jaguar P7 ME (Motorsport Edition) - is an upgraded variant in Forza Motorsport 7 featuring a 40% bonus CR that will be doubled for racing at the Top Gear Test Track. Although similar to the Horizon Edition in Forza Horizon 3, it has no engine swap and a restrictor plate due to homologated performance.
It is unlockable by completing the Evolution Elite Championship in the Forza Driver's Cup. It was also given out to all VIP players from October 2017 to December 1, 2017.
