Ligier is a French car manufacturer featured in Forza Motorsport (2023).
Synopsis[]
Ligier Automobiles was founded in 1968 by racing driver Guy Ligier.
The company was borne out of an idea suggested to him by fellow Schlesser racing team driver and business partner, Jo Schlesser, suggested to build their own cars.
Soon after, Schlesser would die in practice for the 1968 French Grand Prix, with Ligier subsequently retiring from racing to focus on building his own cars. His first car, the JS1, was unveiled in September 1969 and named in honor of Schlesser, a pattern which all subsequent Ligier cars would follow.
Ligier also competed in Formula One from 1976 to 1996, taking a total of nine victories.
