"The first car created from top to bottom by McLaren and the first road-legal car they made after the legendary McLaren F1, the 2011 McLaren 12C Coupé is everything you would expect of a roar super car built with Formula 1 technology. All the F1 technology you could fit into a supercar is found in the 12C; ranging from the carbon fiber chassis to the steer-braking system, the pedigree of the 12C is impeccable and very noticeable. The McLaren 12C doesn’t stray away from the automotive accomplishments of its one-seater cousins and you can have your own go at this superbly engineered vehicle on Community Choice."—Official description[1]
The 2011 McLaren 12C Coupé[2] - abbreviated as "McLaren 12C" and previously known as "McLaren MP4-12C" - is a rear-wheel drive supercar by McLaren.
It appears in Forza Motorsport 3 as part of the World Class Car Pack and all subsequent main series titles except Forza Horizon 3 and Forza Motorsport (2023).
Synopsis[]
The 12C is McLaren's first in-house-developed car since the 1993 McLaren F1 and its first car in the "Super Series" model range that was continued by the McLaren 650S in 2014.
It also saw the first application of McLaren's 3.8L twin-turbocharged V8 engine codenamed M838T that was also used in subsequent McLaren road cars. Pre-2013 models including the model used in the Forza series have a power output of 592 hp (441 kW) and 443 ft·lb (600 N·m) of torque. The transmission is a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic using paddle-shifters.
Performance[]
The McLaren 12C is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 3.2 seconds and reaches its top speed at circa 213 mph (343 km/h), which is above the manufacturer's claimed top speed of 207 mph (333 km/h).
