"A rare pre-partnership result of AMG tuning and engineering, the Hammer sports the body of a Mercedes 300E sedan, plus a heavily modified V8 that takes it from 0-60 in about 5 seconds, with a top speed of 178 mph. Every hot rod that has come out of Mercedes-AMG since owes a debt to the Hammer. AMG’s record are spotty on how many of these were produced, but each was custom ordered so we know they were a rarity from the start, and they were not cheap; likely around $160,000 each."—Official description[1]
The 1987 Mercedes-Benz AMG Hammer Coupe - abbreviated as "AMG Hammer Coupe" - is a rear-wheel drive retro saloon by Mercedes-Benz.
It appears in Forza Horizon 4 since Update 29 and in Forza Horizon 5.
Synopsis[]
The Mercedes-Benz AMG Hammer is a custom performance car based on the Mercedes-Benz W124 mid-size production car that was available for the 1985 to 1996 model years. It was offered by the then-independent engineering firm AMG, which was acquired by Mercedes-Benz parent company Daimler in 1999 and has officially become part of the Mercedes-Benz brand since then.
The Forza rendition of the AMG Hammer is the AMG 300 CE 6.0, of which only 12 copies were built. Its platform was provided by the Mercedes-Benz 300 CE codenamed C124, the coupé body style of the W124, although the AMG Hammer was also available in sedan form.
Engine and drivetrain[]
The AMG Hammer is fitted with a custom M119 engine from the full-size 560 SEL sedan with displacement increased to 5,953 cc (6 liter), featuring 379 hp (283 kW) and 417 ft·lb (565 N·m) of torque. Mated to a four-speed automatic transmission, the AMG Hammer launches from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in five seconds.
Platform[]
Offered only in black paint, the AMG Hammer is fitted with wide fenders and lowered suspension that give it an aggressive look and contribute to handling.[2] Weighing 3640 lb (1651 kg), it is moderately heavy compared to other Retro Saloon cars in Forza Horizon 4.
