The 2013 Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG - abbreviated as "M-B E63" - is a rear-wheel drive super saloon by Mercedes-Benz.
It appears in Forza Motorsport 5 as part of the Alpinestars Car Pack and as standard in all subsequent main series titles except Forza Motorsport (2023).
It also appears in Forza Street.
Synopsis[]
The 2013 E 63 AMG was produced from 2013 to 2017 alongside its coupé counterpart, the CLS 63 AMG. It was introduced as a facelift for the 2010 Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG and brought along an all-wheel drive option for the first time. It was replaced by the 2018 Mercedes-AMG E 63 S.
Drivetrain[]
The E 63 AMG featured in the Forza series is the S model with the 4Matic all-wheel drive system and a 7-speed transmission.
Compared to the 6.2 liter V8 powertrain from the 2010 model, the downsized 5.5 liter (5,461 cc) V8 engine in this model is fitted with twin turbochargers and direct injection to increase power and fuel economy. The M157 engine powertrain produces 577 hp (430 kW) at 5500 rpm and offers significantly more torque than its predecessor, going from 464 ft·lb (630 N·m) to 590 ft·lb (800 N·m) within 1750 to 5000 rpm.[2]
Performance[]
The E63 AMG compares to other sports saloons with a great emphasis on speed, as evident by a top speed of 206 mph (332 km/h), which is increased to 211 mph (340 km/h) in the Horizon series. The AWD system allows it to launch very quickly and reach impressive acceleration times, including 3.4 seconds for 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) and 8 seconds for 0 to 100 mph (161 km/h).
The high weight affects cornering on sharp bends in the form of understeer, although the quick acceleration can be used to make up its handling shortcomings.
