The IMSA GTP class represented the highest level of sportscar racing in its time. It was an era dominated by Porsche and the 962. With Electramotive Engineering dubbed as Nissan’s North American development arm, Nissan sought to make a name for itself as it rebranded from its Datsun moniker. Utilizing what was initially a Lola T810 chassis – later a bespoke Electramotive tub – and the VG30ET motor shared with the Nissan 300ZX, the GTP car was increasingly successful as its potential was realized. Eventually the GTP-ZX Turbo would win both the Constructor’s Cup and Driver’s Cup. Electramotive would later evolve into Nissan Performance Technology which raised the performance levels of the cars the consumer could actually buy.
— Official description

The 1985 Nissan #83 Electramotive Engineering GTP ZX-Turbo - abbreviated as #83 GTP ZX-Turbo - is a RWD prototype race car by Nissan featured in Forza Motorsport 7 as part of the K1 Speed Car Pack.

The GTP ZX-Turbo was developed by Nissan and California-based Electramotive Engineering for competing in the GTP class of the IMSA GT Championship.

Named similarly to the Z31 series 300ZX Turbo, it is powered by a heavily modified VG30ET production engine with power raised to 641 hp (478 kW). The chassis is a Lola design although 1986 and newer variants are based on a bespoke design.

Despite suffering from technical problems in its first racing seasons, the GTP ZX-Turbo proceeded to win the Constructor's Championship from 1989 to 1991 consecutively.[1]
