"Sold only in Nissan Cherry Stores back in the days of girl groups and grunge, the 1991 Nissan Figaro is a tiny, retro, convertible car built with a dash of luxury and extravagance. The highlight of this car’s retro design is found inside. The console and dials are built in a beautiful white color with some chrome details found in frames and the steering wheel. The elegant lever at the center console could put some modern luxury cars to shame. It may have been built to appeal to retro car fans; however, the Figaro came equipped with the latest technology for the time, such as air conditioning and a CD player. Available in colors that represent the four seasons, the Figaro is a ride to enjoy all year long."—Official description[1]
The 1991 Nissan Figaro - abbreviated as "Figaro '91" - is a front-wheel drive retro convertible car by Nissan.
It appears in Forza Horizon 5 as part of the Nissan Retro Rides Car Pack, which debuted in Series 46.
Synopsis[]
Unveiled at the 1989 Tokyo Motor Show, the Nissan Figaro was the fourth "Pike Car", following the Nissan Be-1, Nissan Pao and Nissan S-Cargo.[2]
The paint colours represented the four seasons: Topaz Mist (autumn), Emerald Green (spring), Pale Aqua (summer) and Lapis Grey (winter).
The Figaro has many design features that are call backs to older cars, including round headlights and taillights, chrome trim, fixed-profile convertible body style and wheels designed to mimic whitewall tires. The car also had luxurious features for the time including a CD player, ivory-leather seats, a cassette player, and air conditioning.
Being based on the First generation Nissan Micra, the Figaro uses a 1.0L Turbocharged I4 that produces 75 hp (56 kW) and 78 ft·lb (106 N·m) coupled to a 3-speed automatic transmission. McPherson Struts are employed up front and a four-link coil suspension system is used in the rear. The front brakes are ventilated discs while the rears are drum brakes[3].
The Figaro was only produced in 1991 and 20,000 units were produced[4].
Despite the Figaro only being sold in Japan, it was quite popular in the UK and Ireland.
