"The GT-R is absolutely a supercar, only this incredible ride comes from Japan. Picking up where the legendary Skylines of the past left off, the Nissan GT-R delivers straight-line performance that can’t be beat by cars five times its price. When it comes to cornering, it is dexterous and light-footed. A near unfair advantage is found in the traction from its high tech all-wheel drive system that delivers astounding grip and predictability. The GT-R’s looks make it a standout in any performance showdown and any supercar lover will find plenty to respect. Should the power and capabilities of the GT-R come into question, just bring any challenger on. The proof of the GT-R's dominance will soon be found in the dust that the doubters will consume while chasing it."
—Official description[1]

The 2012 Nissan GT-R Black Edition (R35) - abbreviated as "Nissan GT-R '12" and previously referred to as "Nissan GT-R Black Edition"[2] - is an all-wheel drive supercar by Nissan.

It appears in Forza Horizon and all subsequent main series titles except Forza Motorsport (2023), as well as Forza Motorsport 6: Apex.

Synopsis[]

The 2012 GT-R was the first facelift variant of the R35 GT-R, which included a major power raise to more than 500 hp (373 kW) and chassis optimisations. The Black Edition was the highest model trim of that year and included a red and black interior, darker six-spoke wheels, as well as leather Recaro seats.[3]

Another facelift for the GT-R was introduced with the 2017 Nissan GT-R.

Performance[]

The GT-R Black Edition features above average acceleration, requiring only 2.8 seconds for 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) and 7 seconds for 100 mph (161 km/h). It handles corners well, but may suffer from understeer due to a high weight.

Upgraded[]

In Forza Horizon 3 and all subsequent Horizon titles, it may be upgraded using a Liberty Walk preset that raises its performance index to S1 895 in Forza Horizon 3, S1 853 in Forza Horizon 4 and S1 832 in Forza Horizon 5. It includes a number of handling upgrades, greatly improving its cornering abilities but hardly touching on straight-line performance.

Variants[]

Horizon Edition[]

The Horizon Edition - abbreviated as "Nissan GT-R HE" - is an upgraded variant in Forza Horizon 3 featuring a Skills boost, an S1 900 upgrade preset with a Liberty Walk body kit and a matte black paint design.

It was unlockable as a Horizon Wheelspin prize before the October 14, 2016 update, although it was later rewarded in various Forzathon events.

Forza Edition[]

The Forza Edition - abbreviated as "Nissan GT-R FE" - is an upgraded variant in Forza Motorsport 7 featured in Forza Motorsport 7 as VIP exclusive content. It features a 50% credits bonus that is doubled for racing at Suzuka, as well as a similar appearance to its Horizon Edition counterpart from Forza Horizon 3.
