"Available for purchase only by reservation, the 1989 Nissan S-Cargo is the Pike car meant for commercial use. That hump on the back is indeed a loading area, like what you would find on a van. Thus, resulting in a car that looked like a snail, explaining why Nissan chose a name that sounded like escargot. Only 8,000 units of this car were sold, making it a very rare JDM jewel and now you can get your hands on one of them with the Nissan Retro Rides Car Pack!"—Official description[1]
The 1989 Nissan S-Cargo - abbreviated as "S-Cargo '89" - is a front-wheel drive retro commercial van by Nissan.
It appears in Forza Horizon 5 as part of the Nissan Retro Rides Car Pack, which debuted in Series 46.
Synopsis[]
Unveiled at the 1989 Tokyo Motor Show, the Nissan S-Cargo was the only commercial vehicle in the "Pike Car" series, which features the Nissan Be-1, Nissan Pao and Nissan Figaro.[2]
The S-Cargo was designed to be a practical delivery van in urban areas, with a tall delivery area and cargo limit of 660 pounds[3]. Its interior had minimal features like air conditioning, but was otherwise basic[4].
The S-Cargo's name stands for Small Cargo, while also representing its snail-like exterior styling by sounding similar to "escargot". This styling was inspired by the Citroën 2CV Fourgonnette delivery van.
8,000 units of the S-Cargo were produced for the Japanese market from 1989-1991[5].
