==Factors==
It displays a vehicle's overall performance value, which is determined by top speed, acceleration, braking, handling and launch rating, as well as weight.

*'''Speed''' evaluates top speed determined by engine performance and transmission gearing.
Any vehicle's performance index can be increased by applying power-improving and weight-saving upgrades. Players can also decrease their P.I. value by adding weight and using an AWD-to-RWD conversion.

The Performance Index of an upgraded Koenigsegg One:1 in Forza Horizon 3

The Performance Index - abbreviated as P.I. or PI - is a car performance measuring system featured in Forza Motorsport 2 and all subsequent titles.

Factors

The Performance Index evaluates five performance factors scored from 3.0 to 10.0 and assigns a car an alphanumeric performance class starting from 0 and capping at 999 or 1000. Classes group similar cars together, allowing race events to permit entry to certain cars to enable a competitive environment.

  • Speed evaluates top speed determined by engine performance and transmission gearing.
  • Handling evaluates maximum cornering speeds determined by lateral G force values at 60 mph (97 km/h) and 120 mph (193 km/h).
  • Acceleration evaluates acceleration to top speed determined by 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) and 100 mph (161 km/h) times.
  • Launch evaluates acceleration from a standstill determined by 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) and 100 mph (161 km/h) times.
  • Braking evaluates braking distances determined by braking distances required for 60 mph (97 km/h) and 100 mph (161 km/h) to 0.
  • Class evaluates overall performance determined by a car's lap time on a simulated test track.[1]
