The 2017 Porsche #2 Porsche Team 919 Hybrid - abbreviated as #2 Porsche 919 - is an LMP1 race car by Porsche featured in Forza Motorsport 7.

Synopsis

The 2017 919 Hybrid replaces the 2015 Porsche 919 Hybrid. The #2 919 Hybrid, driven by Timo Bernhard, Brendon Hartley, and Earl Bamber, won first place in the 2017 24 Hours of Le Mans, 2017 6 Hours of Nürburgring, and 2017 6 Hours of Mexico. It was discontinued at the end of the 2017 World Endurance Championship season to allow Porsche to focus on Formula E.

A race car for use in the Le Mans Prototype1 class, the 2017 919 Hybrid is an evolution of its preceding models in 2016 and 2015. The car uses a monocoque with a composite fiber construction made of carbon fibers with a honeycomb aluminum core.

The 919 Hybrid's engine is a 2.0 L (2,000 cc) turbocharged V4 producing 500 hp (373 kW), paired with a hybrid system consisting of a lithium-ion battery and an Engine Generator Unit producing at least 400 hp (298 kW) for a total of 900 hp (671 kW) and 1100 ft·lb (1491 N·m).

The car uses a seven-speed hydraulically-activated sequential racing transmission with a CFRP clutch and rear differential lock. The car is all-wheel drive through a KERS system mounted on the front axle and a normal rear-wheel drive drivetrain.

Performance

Porsche claims 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 2.2 seconds and 0 to 120 mph (193 km/h) in 4.8 seconds for the 2017 919 Hybrid, although the Forza Motorsport 7 rendition of the car does these in 3 and 4.8 seconds instead, respectively, along with a top speed of 208 mph (335 km/h) except if under homologation rules.

Trivia

  • During a race, the 2017 919 Hybrid erroneously had its headlight textures bleed outside the headlight housings onto the car's body. This error has since been fixed.[1]
    • In Photo Mode and outside of the race, though, this visual error disappears. However, this applies only to the player's car.
  • The 2017 919 Hybrid is the only car in the Forza P1 division that is in X Class by default.
  • Its thumbnail features the DHL logo on top of its number plate, while the actual car in gameplay uses the 24 Hours of Le Mans logo, which takes its place.
