"Short of the turbo-charged GT2 RS, you simply cannot drive a faster, better-handling Porsche 911 than the GT3 RS. Any driving enthusiast will tell you that the huge wing and wide-body are not just for looks. This is a car that is purely built to be one of the best driving cars the world has ever seen. Despite being 180 hp short of its GT2 RS cousin, the more than 500 horses produced by the 4.0-liter naturally-aspirated unit (mounted in the rear, of course) is more than enough to excite the soul and incite driving heroics. Properly driven, it is exemplary to the race-winning history the Porsche brand has earned over more than half a century."—Official description[1]
The 2019 Porsche 911 GT3 RS - abbreviated as "911 GT3 RS '19" - is a rear-wheel drive supercar by Porsche.
It appears in Forza Motorsport 7 as part of the July Update and all subsequent main series titles.
It appears in Forza Horizon 4 since the Series 1 Update.
Synopsis[]
The 2019 GT3 RS is an updated variant of the 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS. It comes with a slightly more powerful engine and handling improvements provided by a redesigned body with twice as much downforce than the 2016 model, as well as a stiffened suspension with solid ball joints on both axles.[2]
On April 16, 2018, the 2019 GT3 RS lapped the Nürburgring-Nordschleife in 6:56.4 minutes, beating its predecessor by 24 seconds and making it the third Porsche production model to complete a lap on in under seven minutes.[3]
Performance[]
The 2019 GT3 RS retains the four liter flat-six engine from the 2016 model with power increased to 514 hp (383 kW), which made it the most powerful naturally-aspirated Porsche production car upon release. The engine update gives it slightly better acceleration at higher speeds than its predecessor, as evident by a 0 to 100 mph (161 km/h) time of 6.9 seconds (the 2016 GT3 RS requires 7 seconds). Top speed is 196 mph (315 km/h) in Forza Motorsport 7, but increased to 215 mph (346 km/h) in Forza Horizon 4.
Handling is similar to its predecessor with the exception of slightly improved braking and increased lateral G values. In terms of weight, the 2019 GT3 RS weighs 20 lb (9 kg)[4] more than the 2016 variant, although this is offset by its more powerful engine.
