"In the late 1970s, Porsche sensed a change in the wind. There was a global oil crisis, a suspicion that the flagship 911 was reaching the upper limits of its popularity, and a fear of looming legislation from the US government banning rear-engine vehicles in response to safety concerns about the Chevy Corvair. What they needed was a grand tourer, totally fresh in its design and powertrain, that would appeal to the luxury sedan market in a way the compact, loud, sporty 911 never could. The result was the first Porsche design not derived from previous work – the 928. The 356 came from the Beetle, the 911 came from the 356, and the 912 and 924 originally came from designs by Volkswagen, but the 928 was its own thing: Porsche’s first front-engine V8. The result was slow to sell, as Porsche purists saw it as a betrayal, and its target market balked at the price tag. But over time, it developed a following, as well as a number of trim packages such as the GTS (which was US-only). Only 407 of these were made, and they included wider wheel arches (for larger tires) and the largest V8 the model had sported to date (350 hp). The 1993 model was one of the last; the model would cease production in 1995."
—Official description[1]

The 1993 Porsche 928 GTS - abbreviated as "1993 928 GTS" or "P. 928 GTS '93" - is a rear-wheel drive grand tourer by Porsche.

It appears in Forza Horizon 3 and all subsequent main series titles, except for Forza Horizon 5.

In Forza Horizon 3 it was unlockable during the Forzathon event Showtime! held in late August 2017 that was exclusive to VIP players.[2]

It appears in Forza Horizon 4 as part of the Series 35 Update.

Synopsis[]

The 928 GTS is the final model interation of the Porsche 928, a 2+2 grand tourer that was produced from 1977 to 1995. It was offered as the sole model for the 928 from 1992 to 1995, featuring widened bodywork and a 5.4 liter V8 engine.

In 1995, high-specification 928 GTS models could reach prices in excess of US$100,000, making them the most expensive models in the United States at the time. This severely hampered sales despite the model's performance and long standard equipment list. Porsche discontinued the GTS that year after shipping only 77 units to the United States.

The 1993 928 GTS is powered by the M28 engine, a 5.4 liter (5,397 cc) V8 engine with a total output of 345 hp (257 kW) and 369 ft·lb (500 N·m) of torque. It is mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
