Proto Motors was founded in 1997 as a sports car brand by former SsangYong designer Han-chul Kim and his wife, a researcher at Asia Motor Company. The company was renamed as Oullim Motors in 2007 after its acquisition by Oullim Group, although it has also been defunct since 2017.
In 2002, the company introduced the Proto Motors Spirra, a mid-engined sports car that entered production in 2010 under the Oullim name.[1]
