"Driving the Saleen S7 is an unforgettable experience. With enough room to run and a heavy throttle, the S7 launches hard and gathers up speed surprisingly quickly—even if you expect that with 575 horsepower it should take off in a hurry, the raw and unrestrained acceleration is staggering (the quarter mile is decimated in just under 12 seconds at 120 mph). While it looks fast, it’s also huge—no other two-seat car offered at the time is so long or wide. That size doesn’t necessarily mean that the S7 packs a lot of weight, as it utilizes an expensive mix of carbon fiber and aluminum honeycomb materials to keep mass down. Trick suspension is relatively soft at low speeds for additional comfort, but firms up when the S7’s downforce hunkers the car down at speed. It’s a combination that in race trim as the S7R has been very successful in sportscar racing. Overkill for the street, perhaps, but there are few cars as ferociously rewarding to drive on a track than the S7."—Official description[1]
The 2004 Saleen S7 is a rear-wheel drive supercar by Saleen.
It appears in all Forza main series titles, except for Forza Horizon 2.
Synopsis[]
Developed only in 18 months by Saleen in collaboration with British automotive supplier RML Group, the S7 supercar was conceived to elevate Saleen's status from a car tuner to an automotive manufacturer. Using a 575 hp (429 kW) Ford V8, the S7 was capable of at least 200 mph (322 km/h), which made it a serious contender to European supercars.[2]
The S7 was produced from 2000 to 2009 and received a twin turbo engine upgrade in 2005. It also competed in GT racing as the S7R.
