The 1993 Schuppan 962CR is a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive supercar manufactured by Schuppan.
It appears in Forza Horizon 5 as part of the Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels expansion.
Synopsis[]
The 962CR is a British limited-production sports car produced from 1992 to 1994 by Vern Schuppan Ltd., a low-volume car manufacturer based in the United Kingdom operated by Australian racing driver Vern Schuppan.
It features a unique bodyshell, penned by Mike Simcoe of General Motors, and is based on the Porsche 962 in both appearance and mechanicals. It was one of the most expensive cars sold when new, priced at well over USD$1.5 million, through its extensive use of carbon fiber and titanium fasteners.
It is powered by a 3.3L twin-turbocharged Type 935 flat-6, also taken from the 962. Its carbon monocoque was manufactured by Reynard Motorsport, with final assembly taking place in Buckinghamshire, England; funding was provided by Japanese investors financing Schuppan's race team: Team Schuppan.
With two Japanese owners failing to pay for two cars, an economic recession, and the car's high cost of production, Schuppan ultimately declared bankruptcy in 1994.
Only six cars were produced before the company shut down.
