"The decade that saw the birth of extreme sports needed a car to match its radical attitude. Hence, the 1996 Subaru SVX was born, because what is more extreme than a car with a roof inspired by airplanes? The SVX featured a 3.3-liter engine that produced 231 horsepower and 228 lb-ft of torque delivered straight to every wheel thanks to its AWD system. An almost stock version of this car took over the Alcan Winter Rally in 1991, driving all the way from Seattle to the Arctic Circle and back. That’s not even the most impressive fact about this Subaru! The SVX’s aerodynamics are so excellent that the car’s drag coefficient is 0.29, which is very close to that of hyper cars of the era."—Official description[1]
The 1996 Subaru SVX is an all-wheel drive sports car by Subaru.
It appears in Forza Motorsport 6 as part of the Alpinestars Car Pack, as standard in Forza Motorsport 7 and Forza Horizon 3, and in Forza Horizon 5 as part of Series 39.
Synopsis[]
The SVX is a futuristic designed grand tourer that acted as Subaru's halo car. Penned by Giorgetto Giugiaro, whom kept many design elements from the 1989 concept car including a glass canopy and split side windows, it was a standout among contemporary Subaru models and competitors.
At its highest specification, the SVX was equipped with an all-wheel drive system that drew power from a 3.3 liter flat-six through a four-speed automatic transmission.
Due to poor sales caused by a high price tag, it was only produced for five years from 1991 to 1996.[2]
