"The WRX is a car for all occasions. You can drive it daily, you can take it road racing and it launches like a rocketship at the dragstrip. And rallying? It’s what it the WRX was designed for. Out of the box, the STi is fast and has intuitive, incredible handling. It also takes to modification wonderfully and can quickly become a go-to car for just about any event. The heart of the 2015 WRX STi is still the faithful EJ motor. The sound it makes, the way it the turbo spools up and sets you back in your seat, and the steady stream of power are proof enough there is no reason to fix what isn’t broken. Sure, the WRX STi is all boy-racer, but if you are going to talk the talk, it’s cool to walk the walk."—Official description[1]
The 2015 Subaru WRX STI - abbreviated as "Subaru WRX '15" - is an all-wheel drive sport compact by Subaru.
It appears in Forza Horizon 2 as part of the Rockstar Car Pack and in all subsequent main series titles, including Forza Motorsport 6: Apex.
Synopsis[]
The 2015 WRX STI is part of the fourth generation of the Subaru WRX STI and was the first model year available for North America. Different to previous model generations, the 2015 WRX STI received more distinctive styling to distinguish it further from the Impreza, sharing only two body panels with the latter.
Similar to the 2011 WRX STI, the 2015 WRX STI is powered by a 2.5 liter turbocharged boxer engine with unchanged specifications, but offers a firmer chassis and improved handling.
Rather than increasing power, the 2015 WRX STI was developed to better transfer its power to the road. For this reason, it received a 40% stiffer chassis than its predecessor, along with a quicker hydraulic steering and a torque vectoring system.[2] As a result, the 2015 WRX STI can corner up to 1.09 g and 0.90 g in the Motorsport and Horizon series respectively, giving it a higher handling rating than the 2011 WRX STI.
The 2015 WRX STI also accelerates faster than its predecessor, requiring less than five seconds for 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) and 12.6 seconds for 120 mph (193 km/h). Topping out at 166 mph (267 km/h), it is almost tied with the 2011 STI in terms of top speed.
