"90s extravagance car-sonified, the 1997 Toyota Soarer was the Japanese brand’s most tech advanced addition to their catalogue during that decade, being equipped with an EMV touchscreen and one of the first to use an integrated GPS. Luxury and tech ooze from this car, but is it lacking muscle? AS IF! The Soarer is fitted with a 1JZ-GTE engine, meaning it has a straight 6, 2.5-liter heart beating underneath its hood producing 278 bhp and 279 lb-ft of torque driven to all four wheels. Experience what sports luxury looked and felt like in the 90s: totally fast, and totally customizable. The Soarer comes with the Origin Lab front bumper, rear bumper, side skirts and Forza front bumper and rear wing to create your ideal version!"—Official description[1]
The 1997 Toyota Soarer 2.5 GT-T - abbreviated as "Soarer '97" - is a rear-wheel drive luxury sports car by Toyota.
It appears in Forza Horizon 5 as part of Series 39.
Synopsis[]
The Soarer 2.5 GT-T - codenamed JZZ30 - is the sport model of the third generation Toyota Soarer (Z30). Manufactured throughout the whole production cycle of the base model, the Z30 Soarer was sold in Japan and produced alongside Lexus's SC300, a derivate which was sold in the North American market.
Sharing the body design and multiple key components with the SC300, the Z30 Soarer featured a different interior, powertrains and vehicle line-ups. The 2.5 GT-T model is powered by a 1JZ-GTE 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-six engine equipped with Toyota's variable valve timing system (VVTi) and paired to a 5-speed manual transmission, which produces 276 hp (206 kW) and 279 ft·lb (378 N·m) of torque.[2]
The Z30 Soarer and the SC300 were replaced in 2001 by the Soarer 430SCV and the SC430, respectively.
