"When VUHL (Vehicles of Ultra-light and High-performance) brought their “ultimate race car for the road” to the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2013, the flock of consummate car connoisseurs in attendance were quite impressed. With good reason, considering the car’s appearance and amazing power-to-weight ratio. Now, the 05RR has taken a leap to the even more extreme edge of performance, adding roughly 100 horsepower while dropping even more weight. One look around the VUHL and its purpose is clear: dominate the track while barely remaining street legal. You won’t find luxuries or amenities, but you will find every component that lends itself to car control optimally placed and engineered for simplicity. Run this machine against other ultimate track-toys or the best of the supercar world; you’ll be surprised how it matches up."—Official description[1]
The 2017 VUHL 05RR - abbreviated as "Vuhl 05RR '17" - is a rear-wheel drive lightweight sports car by VUHL.
It appears in Forza Motorsport 7 as part of the Top Gear Car Pack and all subsequent main series titles.
It is featured in Forza Horizon 4 as part of the Series 37 update.
Synopsis[]
The VUHL 05RR is an upgraded version of the previous 05, featuring enhancements for a more track-focused experience. The car is powered by a 2.3L Ford EcoBoost turbocharged inline-4 producing 400 hp (298 kW), mated to a 6-speed Sadev sequential manual.
The car was first unveiled at the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed, with the full-production version being unveiled three years later at the Mexico Race of Champions. The 05RR is currently the only vehicle produced by VUHL, with the regular 05 having gone out of production.
