Synopsis

The I.D R is a race car that is part of Volkswagen's electric car series named I.D.. It is based on a carbonfiber monocoque using double wishbone suspension and two electric motors located on each axle for a 50/50 weight distribution. The low-slung body was designed for maximum downforce and features a closed canopy similar to LMP1 cars.

The electric drive outputs 670 hp (500 kW) and 479 ft·lb (649 N·m) of torque to all wheels, making the I.D R the third most powerful all-electric car in the Forza series after the Rimac Concept Two and the RAESR Tachyon Speed.

• The model used in the Forza series debuted at the 2016 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb to set a new record for electric cars. Piloted by Romain Dumas, it managed to set a new all-time lap record of 7 minutes and 57 seconds.
